Shallow breathing while asleep

So I share a room with my friend and classmate John, and one night as I was trying to get apple mac repair London and studying I heard him breathing in a funny way. The next morning I told him what I heard and suggested that he visit his doctor. When came back from the doctor later that day he told me his doctor believed that he had Hypopnea.

Hypopnea or shallow breathing while sleeping is a problem which we often tend to overlook. In hypopnea syndrome, very little air is inhaled in as opposed to deep diaphragmatic inhaling which is ideal for health. If you suffer from hypopnea often, then it’s time for you to consult a doctor. Like every other sleep disorder, this one also needs treatment.

Shallow breathing during the night can be caused due to a number of medical conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. These diseases restrict the amount of airflow into our lungs, and as a result lead to rapid and shallow breathing. Pulmonary edema can also be a probable factor leading to shallow breathing while sleeping. Breathing can also be affected by anxiety or stress. In fact, an important symptom of anxiety is hyperventilation.

Hypopnea has certain symptoms like a feeling of fatigue and irritation, inability to get good quality sleep, and the overall health of the individual suffers badly. Hypopnea is often accompanied by a panic attack which is also potentially dangerous.

Shallow breathing can be experienced due to a variety of medical issues, so it is very important to a consult a physician in order to ascertain the root of the problem. Use of oxygen therapy and nebulizers can be done. Yoga and meditation can also help to a great extent.
