Students and insurance, the trap!

January 19th, 2012 posted by admin

Being what some may call a “career student”, I know all about insurance policies. Us students aren’t trusted at all, as you know! We need insurance just to boil the kettle, or to make some pasta. But seriously, I do think it’s a joke.

Things like horse insurance and car insurance I can understand. These things make sense. But pasta sauce insurance? Surely there can’t be many bad situations which have occurred from pasta being overcooked.

Of course, we don’t help ourselves. Us students have a long track-record of burning things, ruining things and very much messing things up. So what’s the answer to this grave problem? Well, I know I am doing my bit:

It’d be like what happened when that novel Fight Club came out and loads of fight clubs started springing up all over…

…I have started a club at uni which is devoted to being better at being students. In this club we go out of our way to be better at everything: we don’t mess things up, we don’t upset people and we are carving a new signature of reputation into the world’s consciousness. Yes we are! (Now THERE’S a speech that really would be fit for a king!)

Will this change the whole world overnight? Probably not. But if more clubs were to spring up all over the UK then who knows? Maybe a serious and forthright revolution would occur. That could not be bad! It’d be like what happened when that novel Fight Club came out and loads of fight clubs started springing up all over the United States. We could be like them, students, we could be like them…

Or failing that we just keep paying for our insurance polices and accept that none of us will ever truly change. Yeah, that’s probably more likely me thinks.

(Note: this blogger takes absolutely no responsibility for anything going wrong as a result of you starting up your own brand-new club, OK? Good, glad we could get that sorted out!)
